Narrative Short Essay

The Unforgettable Saturday at Homestay

My homestay was the annoying place. Everyone did their own businesses which made it crowded all the time. They speak loudly each others, listen to the highest degree volume of music, and have an impersonal chat when they were standing in line in front of the bathroom. All of my friends usually go home on weekend. Unfortunately, my roommate also went home this weekend. Somehow, I decided to stay at homestay because my home is too far. Having a little surprise at the end, I have to pass my day although I was alone.

I woke up late on Saturday morning. I glanced at my alarm clock on the table. Then, I closed my eyes to sleep again. A little while later, I was shocked that it had already 7 a.m. “Damn it! Why does no one wake me up?”  I screamed. “God, I am alone here”. I realized it while scratching my head spontaneously. I felt hungry; I looked for something rashly in my food box. In fact, I found nothing to eat. I began either despondent or desperate. At noon, I was definitely starving. No one existed whom I could beg for some foods. So, I decided to buy some foods in the nearest shop. I rode my bike quickly, but I only got two small pieces of bread there.

When night came, my homestay was really quiet. It seemed that I was in a horrible grave. Therefore, I watched some funny videos on my laptop to kill my fear. Suddenly, the lamp turned off. I could not see anything except the little light from my laptop screen. After that, I heard someone knocking the door of my room. The sounds of knocking became harder and harder. I opened the door fearfully and found the person right in front of me. She is the owner of my homestay standing with her daughter. She gave me a red square box. The tempting fragrance came from it. In hurry, I opened the box and saw a crunchy fried chicken with mayonnaise, a bowl of warm cooked rice and some fresh veggies. It was a box of KFC as a gift of her daughter’s birthday. “Thanks God!” I smiled happily. Fortunately, when she knew that I was alone, she gave the other small oval box of cake to me.

A little surprise at the end made me feel glad. Staying at homestay alone gave me chance to be more autonomous. I should decide everything by myself. Although I was alone, I tried to enjoy my life as good as possible. That was the memorable Saturday for me. ^_^

First Poem in Poetry Class

The Rebellion of an Orphan

I stood for a long time expecting miracles
Waiting for someone who loves me as a child
No one came down erasing my warm tears
Even gave me a hand bringing my inscrutable mind

I became fearful in this hypocrite chaos world
My little heart has turned to a hard rock
Let me make mistakes experiencing this real chord
Even it means I might be naive and freak

I sneaked out finding the wonderful horizon
Breaking out the sunshine free in dark way
My soul will reach the glory of misery season
Till God takes my awful fate away

                The rebellion of an orphan
                Till the red blood dry
                The rebellion of an orphan
                Till the black angel cry
